The brief
The challenge
Cozy Cooktoons is a new cloud kitchen in India serving sandwiches, vada pav, pasta, slices and Maggi, with delivery and online orders only. The brief was to "make people hungry before they've read a word": an animation-first website for the new brand. The catch with animation-heavy sites is speed. The first GTmetrix run came back a grade C (61% performance), with the browser blocked for 817ms while the animations set up.
Our approach
What we built
We built every hero dish from its layers: scroll, and the sandwich assembles itself (bread, chutney, cheese, veggies, crunch), then locks into place with steam. Vada pav, pasta and slices each get their own scroll scene. The site has the full menu with a Jain filter, ordering via WhatsApp, structured data for the restaurant, menu and FAQs, and an llms.txt for AI answer engines. Then we tuned performance: intro animations start at first paint without waiting for JavaScript, scroll scenes are set up as you approach them, the hero image loads first, fonts and icons were trimmed, and we fixed a hidden bug that rendered the whole page twice. The result was a GTmetrix grade A.
- Scroll-driven scenes where each dish assembles itself, layer by layer
- Full menu with a Jain filter and ordering via WhatsApp
- Restaurant, Menu and FAQ structured data, plus an llms.txt for AI answer engines
- Intro animations that start at first paint, without waiting for JavaScript
- Scroll scenes set up on approach, the hero image loaded first, and fonts and icons trimmed
- A hidden bug that rendered the whole page twice, found and fixed
